Neurodevelopmental Practitioner Speech and Language Thearapist

The role

The role will be to undertake face to face neurodevelopmental assessments (autism and ADHD) for children and/or adults as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a mix of home working and working from one of our centres in Harrogate, Horsforth, or Halifax. Oakdale is an agile organisation able to offer full or part time employed or flexible hours.

The assessments may include some or all of the following depending upon professional background/ experience. Training will be provided where required in line with service needs alongside supervision:

Parental/developmental interviews to explore the client's developmental history relating to autism, ADHD and learning. This may include the service structured interviews, the ADI-R, ACE, ACE+ or DIVA/Young DIVA assessments.

Assessments are undertaken by clinicians based at one of our centres, with the play based assessment and developmental history being completed at the same time for early years assessments. MDT meetings take place within these clinics.

1:1 play-based/ activity sessions with the young person/ adult as part of neurodevelopmental assessments

ADOS-2 Assessments

QBCheck

Cognitive assessments, e.g. WISC-V and WAIS-IV (Psychology applicants only)

School observations

Liaison with schools and other professionals

Triage Support Worker 12 month FTC

The Role
The Triage Support Worker will provide comprehensive service delivery of triage and report
administration including clinic report preparation, triaging referrals and reviewing diagnostic
reports.
There will also be other ad hoc administrative tasks and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
● To assist in the preparation of clinical reports under supervision from Oakdale’s
Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team
● Use analytical skills to effectively and accurately summarise assessment and triage
information from a variety of sources and extrapolate clinically relevant information.
● To work through the information received to identify those cases that can be routinely
allocated and those that are more complex and require additional clinical consideration
prior to allocation.
● To review diagnostic reports to ensure that they meet the minimum standards of
assessment to be accepted into the ADHD Medication Service.
● Managing own time effectively to ensure timely triage, allocation and throughput of
cases.
● Maintain accurate case records on Oakdale’s case management system, and to ensure
that cases are tracked and monitored to ensure an efficient allocations process.
● To be responsible for own workload under the direct support of the Triage Lead.
● Carry out other reasonable duties commensurate with the nature and level of
the role.
