The Oakdale Group provides a wide range of specialist assessments, including for autism,
ADHD, and developmental trauma. Oakdale also provides a wide range of psychological
therapies for children, young people, and adults. Many of our services are commissioned by
the NHS, Local Authorities, and schools, and include services for NHS staff. Others are
accessed by members of the public who pay for them privately, through medical insurance, or
through our charitable arm.
The Role
The Triage Support Worker will provide comprehensive service delivery of triage and report
administration including clinic report preparation, triaging referrals and reviewing diagnostic
reports.
There will also be other ad hoc administrative tasks and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
● To assist in the preparation of clinical reports under supervision from Oakdale’s
Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team
● Use analytical skills to effectively and accurately summarise assessment and triage
information from a variety of sources and extrapolate clinically relevant information.
● To work through the information received to identify those cases that can be routinely
allocated and those that are more complex and require additional clinical consideration
prior to allocation.
● To review diagnostic reports to ensure that they meet the minimum standards of
assessment to be accepted into the ADHD Medication Service.
Managing own time effectively to ensure timely triage, allocation and throughput of
cases.
● Maintain accurate case records on Oakdale’s case management system, and to ensure
that cases are tracked and monitored to ensure an efficient allocations process.
● To be responsible for own workload under the direct support of the Triage Lead.
● Carry out other reasonable duties commensurate with the nature and level of
the role.
About you
Essential:
● A minimum of 2 years of current administration experience
● A minimum of a degree in Psychology (Class 2:1 or higher) that provides eligibility for
graduate basis for registration with the British Psychological Society
● Excellent written, verbal and report writing skills alongside a methodical and analytical
approach with excellent accuracy and attention to detail
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good telephone manner, with the
ability to facilitate the resolution of issues
● The ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise workload working to tight deadlines
● A team player
● Proactive and organised
● Experience using a range of IT systems and packages including databases
● Responsible, trustworthy and reliable
● Knowledge of data protection regulations
● High level of personal and professional commitment
Preferred:
● Experience of using Google Workspace
● Experience working in neurodevelopmental or mental health services
● Familiarity with NHS or Local Authority pathways and commissioning processes
● An emerging understanding and interest in neurodevelopmental presentations and
diagnoses or experience of working with individuals with autism, ADHD, intellectual
disabilities or other complex needs
● With either a Bachelor’s degree (Class 2.1 or higher) or a Bachelor’s degree (any class)
together with a higher degree
● Evidence of successful working within multidisciplinary teams
