The role
We are looking to employ an experienced, hardworking, conscientious individual who will work as a Healthcare Support Assistant within our Medication Service based in Halifax. The successful candidate will ideally hold a Level 3 qualification in health care and have experience of client health screening included but not limited to weighing and blood pressure monitoring. The ideal candidate would be an experienced HCA who can demonstrate skills attained in a GP setting. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be required to provide administrative support, including booking appointments.
The post will need to work flexibly to help Oakdale meet, and overcome challenges, and be able to embrace change with enthusiasm. The post holder will contribute towards the growth and positive reputation of the Oakdale Centre, its success and development, and most importantly the health and wellbeing of our clients.

About you
Hold a Level 3 Qualification in Health Care.
Experience within a health care setting taking blood pressure and weight screening
Previous administration experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good telephone manner, with the ability to facilitate the resolution of issues
High level of attention to detail
Able to work on own initiative and to tight timescales
Responsible, trustworthy and reliable
A team player
Proactive, organised, systematic, accurate, strong attention to detail
The ability to build effective relationships, inspiring trust and confidence within the organisation and externally
High level of personal and professional commitment

Salary: £23,000- £27,000 (FTE)

This role is responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the Centre, including all administrative tasks.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Administration

To answer the front door and direct clients to their therapy room
To answer the telephone, take messages, make or rebook appointments, and assist Oakdale’s clients and therapists with the organisation of appointments
To take on a busy administration workload helping Oakdale and Oakdale’s therapists process their caseloads
Being a first point of telephone contact for clients
Taking client information and enquiries
Managing therapist’s diaries
Inputting information onto Oakdale’s client database
Processing case administration within this system
Typing and sending letters and appointment emails
Assisting in the set up and administration of continuing professional development training courses and providing general support for the management team
Take credit card payments
Check the building and lock up at the end of the shift, including setting the alarm
To provide health and safety support assistance with facilities management, including recording any relevant issues and then reporting them to the centre manager and appropriately resolving them.
To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to, kept up to date and reviewed.
To ensure the building is kept securely at all times and complies with annual health and safety regulations at all times.
To prioritise emails, respond in order of importance and forward any relevant messages to practitioners and staff to ensure appropriate communication between reception and the rest of the organisation.
2) Finance

To ensure that client payments and petty cash are appropriately handled.
To liaise, as necessary, with the accounts team on invoicing and other financial matters when required.
General Duties

To be an integral staff team member of the centre team and contribute to its positive reputation and development.
To attend appraisals and training, when required.
To comply with the requirements of the centre’s policies and procedures.
To undertake occasional evening/weekend work.
To undertake housekeeping duties as required.
